Regular Supplements: When taking a non-liposomal supplement, enzymes in the saliva and digestive system can break down much of the supplement before it is absorbed. This can reduce bioavailability, meaning only a small amount of the nutrient may be absorbed and used by the body.
Liposomal Supplements: Liposomal supplements are designed to help improve absorption. The nutrient is encapsulated in a phospholipid layer, which helps protect it as it moves through the digestive system. This allows the nutrient to be absorbed more effectively and reach its full potential.

The Chief Scientist at GMPHARMA, who is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, has tested and recognised that any water-containing product must include potassium sorbate to create a safe and effective product.
Potassium sorbate is not a concerning ingredient. It is the salt form of sorbic acid, which is naturally found in berries. It is an effective way to help keep foods and supplements safe from spoilage.
“Natural preservatives” are not suitable for keeping this type of product safe. Rather than not declaring ingredients, as some companies may choose to do, Calm Nutrition believes in full transparency.
We also use reduced amounts of glycerol, as glycerol has been shown to increase the laxative effect in many other magnesium products.
Our supplement uses magnesium bisglycinate, which is one of the gentlest forms of magnesium. Due to its glycine component, it also has a natural calming effect.
